Who we are

Tüük is operated by Kismet Software LLC, a Utah limited liability company doing business as Tüük (“we”, “us”). Questions: privacy@tuuk.com.

The short version

What gets shared, and what never does

This is the part worth reading properly.

Shared: when a product photo is processed, the resulting product record — name, description, barcode, package details, price, and the shop and shelf location — is forwarded into a shared product catalog operated by Warehouse Organizer (another service of Kismet Software LLC). It is a catalog of products in shops, not of people. It carries no reference to you, your household, or your account.

Never shared: your shopping lists, what you actually bought, your pantry contents, your budget, your bank or expense entries, your receipts, your recipes, your calendar, your chores, and your home map. None of that leaves your household, and none of it goes into the catalog.

The distinction is: what a jar of peanut butter costs at that shop is shared; that you bought it is not.

What we collect

Your account and household: email address, a hash of your password (never the password), your display name, and who else is in your household.

What you put in the app: lists, pantry items, coupons, recipes, meal plans, calendar events, chores, budget categories and expenses, monthly net-worth entries, and your home map layout.

Photos you take: product photos are processed to extract the product details. Receipt photos are processed into line items.

Being run by the same company does not make these the same service, which is why they are listed separately.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. The app does not work without them.

Analytics. We run a first-party usage tracker on our own servers, which asks before it records anything and honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Separately, Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept it in the banner — until then consent is denied before the tag loads and no analytics cookie is written. Reject, and none are ever set. The two are asked separately because they are different things.

Children

Tüük today is an app for adults running a household, and accounts are created by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email privacy@tuuk.com and we will delete it.

[TODO — before family mode ships: the planned design gives children their own accounts under a family umbrella. That is squarely within COPPA and needs verifiable parental consent, a separate disclosure, and counsel review before it is built, not after.]

Deleting your data

You can delete your household and everything in it. Product records already contributed to the shared catalog stay, because they contain no reference to you and there is nothing in them to delete — the same reason they were safe to share.

Email privacy@tuuk.com and we will action any access, correction, export, or deletion request.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so here, and by email where it affects what we do with data you have already given us.

This policy describes what the app actually does. It is written for transparency and is not legal advice.
